Is Now the Right Time to Buy a Used Car?

Tariffs are driving prices up... but not at NJ State Auto!

Tariffs may have led to plenty of speculation in nearly every industry, but the actual results have been far less easy to predict. Despite economists’ warnings that prices would quickly rise, the average final sales for cars have been stabler than you might think over this summer. 

This is due to a couple of reasons:

1. Dealerships are trying to keep their lots full over the summer, which means cutting deals left and right.

2. There are still plenty of cars across the nation that were purchased prior to tariff announcements. 

Of course, it’s worth noting that plenty of customers are seeing dramatically higher prices in certain parts of the country, even if the national average has only risen slightly. Bottom line: If you’re planning on buying anytime soon, consider accelerating your search — just in case we see higher swings in the future.
